.... And finally GOI bows before Separatist Kashmiris!
Uri-Muzafarabad Road will be opened by October : Govt
King C Bharati 8/19/2008 9:21:54 PM

Jammu, Aug 10: The writing is on the wall now for Jammuites and all their sacrifices for the past 40 days seem to have gone down the drain as far as the government of Jammu and Kashmir and Union government is concerned.
The government is going all out to ensure the opening of Uri-Muzafarabad road for trade by October this year.
The threat of Mirwaiz and other political leaders of crossing LoC from Uri-Muzafarabad Road on Monday has brought the pro-Kashmiri Government of India and J&K Government to its knees by issuing appeals to Kashmiri separatists not to go for the Muzafarabad march instead of threatening them with same ferocity with which Lt Gen Vinay Sharma had threatened Jammuites of shooting them on spot if they tried to protest in curfew hours.
Even though many people including some journalists had questioned our severe criticism of Lt Gen Sharma's outburst the same is coming true just in two days.
It is an insult to Jammuites affected by the center once again that instead of resolving the land row the center has been bowing before Kashmiris and browbeating Jammuites.
While discriminated Jammuites have neither got a good national media nor the central government Kashmiris are getting the full attention of both.
Instead of snubbing Kashmiri leaders for falsely claiming that highway was blocked the Union Home Minister assured them in front of media that Highway will remain open even if that means lifting the items by air creating an impression that Jammuites had indeed resorted to economic blockade.
But now the worst fears of saner elements of Jammu have come true with the government issuing a statement today which reads: "A spokesman of the government today said that the central government, as part of the series of confidence building measures (CBMs) with Pakistan is committed to open cross-LoC trade on Uri-Muzaffarabad and other points.
As a part of this exercise, a list of large number of items of export interest of J&K has already been passed on to Pakistan and it is upto them to convey their agreement on the list of items to be traded on these routes.
The spokesman said that in the recent past, a team of senior central and state government officers have visited Slamabad(Uri) to inspect the facilities being created for the purpose. He expressed the confidence that if all goes well the cross-LoC trade is expected to commence as early as October 2008".
This press note issued at a time when entire Kashmir leadership including the members of Lok Sabha have threatened India to disintegrate the nation by marching to Muzafarabad for trade and severing all contacts with India.
These Kashmiri leaders are blackmailing India for everything they do with most of them being illogical but the central government responds with more economic packages and continues to bend creating a fear psychosis among true Jammuites that it may break the back bone of Indian leaders at some point of time by bowing so low before Kashmiris.
The agitation of Jammuites and their rejoicing for making central team to visit Jammu now seems only momentary as central government has given what Kashmiris wanted but refuses even to admit that there are more than three martyrs of the SAYSS agitation.
In the meantime it is also worth mentioning here that while Kashmiri Journalists and intellectuals have supported the march to Muzafarabad Jammu based journalists feel shy of joining the SAYSS openly particularly the national media who could have put the record straight at their headquarters.
Another irony of the Indian democracy is that while Jammuites were threatened with army bullets even if they raised pro-India slogans some intellectuals and a prominent journalist of Kashmir has issued a statement today calling the J&K as Indian administrated Jammu and Kashmir and calling the SAYSS agitation as anti-Muslim besides leveling charges that Muslims were being threatened and targeted at large scale in Jammu while our Prime Minsiter is requesting Yasin Malik to call off the Hunger Strike.
A Lok Sabha member of Kashmir was about to threaten India on NDTV Chakarvivuh with couplet " Na Shamjho Ghey Toh Mit Jhao Ghey Ae Hindostan Walo Tumahri Dastaan Tak Bhi Na Hogi Dastanoo Mein."
It is time we all take cue from the present attitude of the central government and put our all demands as a precondition before calling off the agitation otherwise "Hamari Dastan Tak Bhi Na Hogi Dastanoo Mein".
